Department Head of Business Development

The Department Head of Business Development is responsible for overseeing the growth and sustainability of the organization by developing and implementing strategic business development plans, securing new funding opportunities, and building partnerships to advance the organization’s mission and goals.

•  Lead the development of the organization’s business development strategy, including identifying new funding sources and building partnerships.

•  Oversee the preparation of proposals and presentations for new business opportunities.

• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including donors, partners, and government agencies.

• Collaborate with program teams to align funding opportunities with organizational goals and objectives

• Manage the department budget and resources to ensure the maximum use of funds.

• Monitor and evaluate the success of business development initiatives and provide regular reports to senior management.
• Stay informed of developments in the non-profit sector, including emerging funding opportunities and trends.
•   Mentor and manage a team of business development professionals to ensure their growth and success.

•  Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
•  At least 1 to 3 years of experience in business development, fundraising, or a related field, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to multitask.
• Familiarity with the non-profit sector and understanding of funding opportunities.
• Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
•  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•  Passion for the mission and goals of the organization.
• Proven track record of managing a successful business development team
