Free-Nutritious-Food, Delivered to 11,148 Underprivileged-Street-Children by Mojar-School
Mojar-School has been delivering free-nutritious-food to underprivileged-children since 2013.
Last year, 2020, a sudden worldwide pandemic broke down. Most of us unprepared for it, which later led to the economic and mental downfall. The underprivileged-people in our country hit extreme poverty as everything was shut down their daily income source was lost. Those underprivileged-people who earn by selling water, candies, newspaper, flowers, etc were in their worst possible situation. As they have to earn regularly to buy meals on day to day basis.
Thousands of underprivileged-children and their families had to move away from the city, which made them stop their education too. Thousands of people came out to the streets begging for food and resources.
Even after this sudden occurrence, with the support from all of you, Mojar-School did not hesitate to stand beside the underprivileged-street-children and uprooted people in the time of their hardships. Throughout Covid-19 lockdown (March – June) 2020, Mojar-School delivered free-nutritious-food to 50,000 underprivileged-street-children and uprooted people. Mojar-School is providing free-nutritious-food to the underprivileged-people regularly, even after the lockdown was over.
This year, again there is a peak in Covid-19 cases. But this time the difference is that we are ready to fight against the virus and scarcity. Mojar-School is grateful for your support; because of you we can successfully help thousands of underprivileged-street-children and uprooted people to get through the hardships of the Covid-19 pandemic. Mojar-School will always be there for the underprivileged children and uprooted people to provide free-nutritious-food every day.
In this article, we are presenting you with a brief food-program update for March 2021.
Free-Nutritious-Food Delivering Update
In March 2021, Mojar-School has provided free-nutritious-food to 11,148 underprivileged-street children and uprooted people. Of these, 67% were street-children in Dhaka, while the remaining 33% were underprivileged-children outside Dhaka, in Monpura.
We try to bring variation in the food menu every month. The menu includes milk-egg, rice-vegetables, rice-egg, rice-fish, chicken khichuri, chicken polao, and our famous egg-khichuri, to differentiate the taste of the underprivileged-children. To ensure the proper amount of nutrition for the children, we included milk once a week. While arranging the free-nutritious-food ensuring the nutritional value of food is our priority and giving protein the utmost importance.
Birthdays and Other Events
In addition to arranging regular free-nutritious-food, our well-wishers also celebrated their special days with the underprivileged-children through Mojar-School. Because of our well-wishers, the street children get a touch of enjoyment and celebration in their stale life.
This March 2021, our well-wishers have celebrated a total of 06 events through Mojar-School. Among these events, 03 are the birthday celebration event. All these birthday parties had cakes, juice, sweets, and good quality food (khichuri, egg, and chicken-biriyani) for the children instead of regular meals.
This month, we got an invitation to a branch opening ceremony of a known restaurant. It was like a dream for the underprivileged-street-children.
All these Events created happy memories for street-children.
Mojar-School’s well-wishers have directly helped us reach out to a large number of children in March 2021. All of them have donated through the bKash app and the official website of Mojar-School.
Also, the encouragement of thousands of well-wishers through social media has further strengthened our confidence.
Long-term Plan & Impact
Mojar-School believes that long-term solutions will not come by only delivering free-nutritious-food. We must ensure the education of underprivileged-children. Now, 50% of the underprivileged-children enlightened by the light of education through the efforts of Mojar-School for the last 08 years. Mojar-School will keep moving ahead with a plan to ensure education for the remaining 50% of the children very soon.

Mojar-School in Brief
Mojar-School (an Odommo Bangladesh Foundation initiative) has been working towards building a street-child-free Bangladesh since January 10, 2013.
At present, 2,500 underprivileged-children get the opportunity to study in 08 schools of Mojar-School every month. Of these, 850 underprivileged-children in 04 permanent schools are provided free-education according to the National Curriculum; from pre-primary to 6th grade. From 6th grade besides academic education, there is also an arrangement for providing technical education.
Mojar-School reaches an average of 1,650 street-children every month through the remaining 04 open schools. In addition, we provide free-nutritious-food to more than 15,000 underprivileged-children and people at multiple food-points.
In addition, Mojar-School has been able to support a total of 100 underprivileged-families through Odommo-Bangladesh-Better-Stories (OBBS).
